The Mill’s Covid-19 policy

October 19, 2022

The Mill acknowledges that Coronavirus (Covid-19) continues to present real risks to the health and well-being of our community. This policy follows advice from SA Health, and includes recommendations to help protect those who work from from, hire, use or visit The Mill.

Information for artists and visitors:

If you plan to visit The Mill for any reason, and are feeling unwell (cough or fever or other respiratory symptoms), we strongly recommend that you stay home, and get a PCR test for Covid-19 at one of Adelaide’s free clinics.

The Mill also recommends being fully-vaccinated with an approved Covid-19 vaccine.

With the expiry of mandatory self-isolation / quarantine requirements for COVID-positive persons and close contacts, be advised that entry to The Mill is at your own risk. Our team continues to work at maintaining a safe environment - including regular cleaning of performance spaces, galleries and common areas and the provision of masks (optional) and hygiene stations for all visitors.

When visiting The Mill:

  • Be conscious of keeping a 1.5m distance between people at all times.

  • Make use of the hygiene and sanitising stations located at each entrance and in the bathrooms.

  • If you are concerned about contracting or passing on COVID we strongly recommend wearing a mask while inside The Mill, especially when attending events. Medical-grade N95 / P2 masks offer a high level of protection from diseases and can be purchased at most chemists. Disposable masks are available on site.

  • Please respect our procedures, and follow instructions from staff (or signs) regarding hygiene and personal safety.

Additional information for studio and program artists:

  • If you are feeling unwell or exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 (cough, fever or other respiratory symptoms) please get a PCR test at one of Adelaide’s free clinics prior to coming to The Mill. Locations can be found on the SA Health website.

  • If you are diagnosed with Covid-19 and/or were onsite at The Mill during your infectious period, you are encouraged to inform The Mill via email info@themilladelaide.com ASAP so that we can let others know - as they may also wish to get tested. We also ask that you consider the potential impact of returning to The Mill while COVID-positive, and encourage you to contact us to discuss rescheduling your engagement.

  • The Mill recommends artists regularly clean their studios using a hospital-grade sanitiser, especially where members of the public are invited in. Use this fact sheet about routine cleaning and sanitising for more information.

  • Artists working with The Mill as artists-in-residence or performing with us during Adelaide Fringe 2023 are asked to check their artist agreements for further COVID-related requirements.

If you have questions or would like to speak with someone from our operations team, please contact info@themilladelaide.com
