We are thrilled to announce Keisha Barrow as the recipient of the First Nations Dance Residency for 2026.
Keisha will be supported by WAYIN:THI Co-Leads Caleena Sansbury and Kaine Sultan-Babij during this residency.
This is a creative development and presentation platform available to South Australian performing artists working with contemporary culture. The aim of the residency is to offer place and space as part of a vibrant arts community for artists to develop and show new or existing work.
About the artist:

Keisha Barrow is a Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri artist with over 20 years of experience in dance, specialising in Cultural dance, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop.
Her artistic journey began in childhood through calisthenics and acrobatics, later expanding into choreography and performance with Riverland Youth Theatre and Kurruru Youth Performing Arts.
A graduate of NAISDA Dance College and AC Arts, she has performed with Bangarra at the Sydney Opera House, as a core dancer with WAYIN:THI for Gluttony and contributed to major festivals including the Australian Youth Dance Festival, and worked alongside cultural leaders like Uncle Karl, Uncle Moogy and ODAS at Indigenous AFL events.
Now an Aboriginal Community Education Officer at Victor Harbor Primary School, Keisha teaches dance to Nunga students and creates across a range of mediums including dot painting, weaving, sculpture, and song. Her work is deeply rooted in culture, community, and storytelling.
