Melanie Pryor is a literary nonfiction writer living on Kaurna Yerta. She writes about bodies, landscapes, illness, and belonging. Her personal essays and short form memoir have been published in The New York Times, Meanjin, Westerly, fine print, Southerly, Overland and other places, including wine bottles as part of the 2017 Overland/Story Wine Prize.
Melanie has a PhD in Creative Writing and has held residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, VT and the Wellstone Centre in the Redwoods, CA.
Melanie co-founded The Hearth, a series of literary reading nights in Adelaide (currently on hiatus), and has taught creative writing in Adelaide and overseas.
