Each year, we support our reception volunteers to write profiles on our studio artists.
These opportunities are available to interns, through our connection with Flinders University, and volunteers with an interest in writing and profiling artists.
Not only does this opportunity develop connections between volunteers and artists, it also helps to build a portfolio for budding writers.
We have been lucky to run our Community Program for our studio artist community since 2025, thanks to support from the Australia Post Foundation.
This program aims to develop closer ties - socially and professionally - between studio artists and the local arts community.
We achieve this through Artist Spotlights, giving studio artists paid opportunities to share their practice and personal experiences with their peers, and Field Trips, taking studio artists on guided tours of local arts organisations and opportunities to network and socialise.
The aim of this program is to positively impact wellbeing, build artists’ capacity and, importantly, to have fun.
Each year, our team offers professional development workshops to our studio artists.
These workshops cover grant writing and marketing, sharing handy tips and tricks and giving artists the opportunity to learn new skills in a laidback setting.
Each workshop includes an opportunity to ask questions and share about their experiences, collectively problem solving and skill sharing.
Our team also offers one-on-one sessions for studio artists that need dedicated help with grant writing, business development or marketing.
We are proud to support this bursary for Perth Moves, designed to connect and elevate dance-makers across Australia through dedicated professional development. In partnership with STRUT Dance (WA), this opportunity encourages national exchange and sector-wide conversation through active participation and visibility.
The Perth Moves Workshop Series is a three-week program of deep-dive workshops with leading figures of the dance world, hosted in Boorloo/Perth by STRUT Dance. This is a program for professional movement practitioners and makers.
The bursary is for 1 x dance artist from South Australia and will cover $1,600 in flights and accommodation, as well as unlimited participation ($1,400) in the Workshop Series from February 9-28, 2026.
